The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office is asking for your help identifying four suspects involved in an assault on the Fourth of July.

According to law enforcement, the incident occurred around 7 p.m. near 135th and Redwood streets when a family in their driveway was approached by the four suspects. Authorities said the suspects began to ignite Roman Candle fireworks and shot them at the victims.

According to the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office, this led to a physical altercation and two victims suffered injuries — a 61-year-old male was internally wounded and a 35-year-old male had serious head injuries.

The victims tell KETV NewsWatch 7 they're left with a lot of questions and pain.

A doorbell camera video shows what started as a peaceful Fourth of July for Jeff O’Brien and his family.

“My grandkids were here, and we had our cookout and had a great day,” said O’Brien.

Little did they know that great day was about to take a shocking turn.

You can see three people come into view, then roman candles start going off.

O’Brien says the group sent the fireworks directly at them.

“It's brutal. You don't expect anything like that. It was just, I can't explain it was like surreal,” said O’Brien.

He says they've never seen these people before.

When O’Brien says they tried to get them to stop -

“I got kicked, beat and then they beat my son severely and the worst part about that is that the last part of that video is I see him getting kicked right square in the head. And that hurts so bad,” said O’Brien.

O’Brien says the fight left him with 4 fractured ribs and he has burns from the fireworks.

You can still a bloodstain at the end of the driveway. O’Brien says it's from his son’s face.

O’Brien says his son’s face has broken bones and an eye injury.

Sarpy County Sheriff's investigator David Larsen says this is the first time in six years he's seen anything like this.

“It’s pretty shocking. The video I think is pretty gruesome. It's not gory or anything but it's just very shocking to see,” said Deputy Larsen.

O’Brien hopes it's the last time and that whoever did this gets caught.

“They just had a look of just evil and that's one way to describe it. I don't know how to describe it because like I said they never said a word,” said O’Brien.

The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office provided a description for each of the four suspects:

"The suspects fled in a black Dodge Ram truck with chrome wheels and we believe they are of family relation," the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
