Aventura Hospital and Medical Center officially became HCA Florida Aventura Hospital in March 2022. Their new name signals that they are part of HCA Florida Healthcare, the largest provider of healthcare in the state with more than 570 sites of care and providing a connected and collaborative healthcare experience for Florida families. The brand launch was celebrated with a special visit by Burnie, the mascot of the Miami Heat and a logo reveal presentation with DJ, stilt walkers, roaming photo booth and cool sparkler celebration for colleagues to enjoy.

HCA Florida Aventura Hospital is driven by a single mission: Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life. Patients are at the center of their mission and everything they do as shown by Healthgrades recognizing HCA Florida Aventura Hospital among the top 5% of U.S. hospitals for clinical outcomes for two years in a row (2022, 2021) and U.S. News & World Report listing HCA Florida Aventura Hospital in its Best Hospitals 2022-23 rankings with a ‘High Performing’ rating in Heart Failure, Stroke and COPD.

The hospital also continues to excel in quality measures for its Joint Commission certified Thrombectomy-capable Stroke Center having been recognized by the American Heart Association with the highest Get with the Guidelines recognitions for 2022: Stroke Award Gold Plus; Target Stroke Elite Plus Honor Roll; and Target Stroke Advanced Therapy Honor Roll. In the spirit of promoting healthy hearts and as part of community engagement throughout the state, HCA Florida Healthcare will be the main sponsor of the Miami-Dade Heart Walk & 5K Run on December 3, 2022 with team HCA Florida Aventura Hospital actively participating.

Crane movement outside HCA Florida Aventura Hospital signals the hospital’s continued growth, now with a vertical expansion to its East Tower. The East Tower originally opened in early 2020 and is home to the Orthopedic & Spine Institute, where patients recover from one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Orthopedic Surgery for three years in a row (2022, 2021 and 2020) and America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Spine Surgery for two years in a row (2021, 2020) as recognized by Healthgrades. The expansion adds three additional floors to the East Tower, which will house a 26-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Center on its fifth floor.

Post-acute care service patients will be able to stay from 12 to 14 days on average and receive an intensive therapy program consisting of 3 hours of therapy a day, at least five times per week under industry standard. These therapy sessions will take place in the Center’s new state-of-the-art Inpatient Rehabilitation Gym available on the first floor with full access to speech, occupational and physical therapy to meet patients’ specific needs. The 3,748 square foot space will include two evaluation rooms, two speech therapy rooms, assistance with daily living suites, an occupational therapy zone and much more. The hospital is also excited to announce that its Outpatient Rehabilitation Center currently located in the South Tower will have a new home on the first floor of the East Tower. The Center will have a dedicated outpatient rehabilitation gym available to the community in need of these services, for example post-surgery, on an outpatient basis.
