Beavis' longtime obsession leads to a confrontation with the one thing he's always loved in a new clip from the upcoming Beavis and Butt-Head revival.

An exclusive new clip from the upcoming Mike Judge's Beavis and Butt-Head revival series on Paramount+ was premiered for audiences at Comic-Con International: San Diego.

The clip, entitled "The Special One," reunites Beavis with his favorite obsession: fire. Played at San Diego Comic-Con's Beavis and Butt-Head Do Comic-Con panel -- featuring creator Mike Judge and moderated by actor/comedian Paul Scheer -- the segment shows Beavis happening across an obviously enticing event for him: a dumpster fire. Only this isn't a normal fire -- the flames this time form a kind of spiritual entity, one that wants Beavis to do his bidding for him.

Beavis, of course, is all too happy to appease his fire god, but is somewhat taken aback by the entity's puzzling commands: to exercise, clean up the surrounding alleys -- and write a book report. Beavis hesitatingly complies with the first two demands, but instead of agreeing to the third, he notifies a nearby business of the fire, which is promptly extinguished by an employee, and putting a seeming end to Beavis' fire god.

But not before the entity reveals the origin of Beavis' fiery obsession. In a flashback sequence on young Beavis' third birthday, the flame on his birthday cake candle first speaks to him -- "I am fire!" -- immediately captivating the impressionable child.

The clip is reminiscent of the humor creator Mike Judge scripted in the original '90s series on MTV. When the fiery presence brags of his accomplishments, like forest fires, Beavis retorts, "Smokey the Bear sucks!" To which the spirit responds, "I killed his parents!"

Is this fire god perhaps trying to change Beavis, for the better? Judge said no. "We've talked about [changing the characters]," said Judge, "But decided, 'If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.'"

The clip also featured the two teens roasting a TikTok video, in a modernization of the show’s format. A second clip, "Roof," was also premiered, featuring the pair -- unsuccessfully -- trying to shatter a crystal bowl by throwing it from a rooftop.

The original Beavis and Butt-Head ran on MTV from 1993 to 1997, and spawned its first spin-off film, Beavis and Butt-Head Do America in 1996. The series was revived for one season on MTV in 2011. Recently, a second film, Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe, premiered on Paramount+.

Mike Judge's Beavis and Butt-Head will debut Aug. 4, also on Paramount+.
